Automated Land
Acquisition Tool (A.L.A.T)
ALAT is an add-on tool used by surveyors and consultants
to prepare Land Acquisition drawing. It assists user to
calculate the original lot area, required area and the
balance due to new right of way. Its usage is easy to be
handled by any level of users. ALAT is a simple tool
that does not require any training. Its major advantage
is shortening the working time and producing automated
drawing by eliminating common mistakes done with manual
calculation. It produces the tabulated calculation
result that conforms to surveyor’s general format.
Data Format
ALAT uses Xdata format to store Land Acquisition
information. The Xdata is associated with Region object
in Autocad drawing. User can easily converts all the lot
areas that are bounded with Region objects.
Interactive Input of Lot Data
The user can input the LA data of the required area such
as district name, lot number, CP area etc using a
special window. This panel allows user to add or modify
the data and automatically updates the Xdata.

Calculation
Output
ALAT calculates all regions that intersect with ROW
boundary, and then saves the result to an Excel CSV
file. User can edit CSV file before ALAT reads this file
to generate area and ROW coordinates tables in the
drawing.

Drawing Style
and Annotations
The drawing can be annotated with the lot number and
point label on the both side of ROW. The user also has a
choice to generate hatch for the required area. |
